Now, some people think that singing talent is just something you were born with. You got it is you got it, if not … well too bad. When you are starting to sing and trying to get better this may feel like a death sentence to your vocalist aspirations as most of us do not feel greatly talented when we are learning. I believe that talent is basically a myth though. talent is just an amalgamation of hard work and a keen sense of learning which anyone can cultivate!
However, learning how to sing can be the tough part. You can go to singing classes and hire tutors and read bits an pieces on the Internet and you can improve your singing voice considerably that way but they all have a catch. Singing lessons can be expensive and sometimes difficult to keep up with. Not to mention your singing coach might not be the greatest as there are many out there who are great singers but not great TEACHERS.
What I wanted to show you today is an alternative to these options that might be more suitable for some of you. This option is an online singing lesson package that has helped thousands of people learn how to sing properly from the comfort of their home.

Learning How to Sing Properly – Different Approaches
Learning how to sing properly is not always a linear path with a set beginning and conclusion. People learn in different ways and different styles of singing may require more training in certain areas than others.
While classical singing may be quite strictly controlled I believe that you can learn to sing properly in a few different fashions.
Group Singing Lessons
If you want to be in a choir or you are good at harmonizing or if you are simply the social sort group singing lessons can be a real boon for you. Being able to glean insights from a group and being able to learn from watching others being coached is appealing to some as well.
The downside of course is that you do not get the individual attention you may need. Also if you are going at a faster or much slower pace than the others this can be frustrating for all involved.
One on One Singing Lessons
The opposite of group lessons of course. With just yourself and a singing coach you can get their undivided attention and you can learn a lot more intensely than with groups. This is of course most peoples preferred method but i thought i would point out a few downsides (at the risk of running myself out of a job!)
Singing coaches can be expensive and can also vary widely in experience and style. Getting a good vocal coach is amazing and worth every penny but I have seen a few who simply do not understand how to teach and others who do not understand how to sing even! Be careful when choosing a singing tutor I guess is what I am saying.
Learn to Sing Books
Some people are just book people. Having a book you can open any time and browse through or absorb in a single sitting or just having as a reference is a great thing. Our world was built upon the knowledge stored in books in fact. While singing is a very physical and auditory art of course I still think there is a place for the written word (a reason i have this blog!)
Of course the downside is that i do not believe a book can teach you to sing completely. They are a great starting place though which is good to egt people moving and passionate about singing but without more information and guidance it can be a stretch to say they can stand on their own.
Learning how to sing properly Software
This is a lesser know but highly effective method which I endorse especially for beginner singers but intermediate vocalists can also gain from it. Combining the knowledge of a book but enhanced with multimedia tools such as pictures, animation and audio files the knowledge you nee to be able to sing is stored within. Other tools such as recording software can also be very helpful.
The downside is of course that you do not have a personal coach to help you overcome inconsistencies which is why i recommend it to beginners because it is more than enough to take you from amateur to semi professional and THEN you can get further tuition

How to Sing Properly But With Passion!
How to sing properly is not just about knowing the details of how your body and lungs work. It is not just about how to achieve perfect pitch. It is also not just about practice and breathing exercises.
All these things are essential but if you do not have one thing you will never get anywhere and you will also never develop your own unique sound.
Passion for singing is what you need!
To learn to sing correctly and properly are great aims only when backed up by a passion that makes singing a joy for you and for others to hear.
Now this is not just a nice fluffy idea that dismissed hard work and learning. I beleive that you must do all three of these things but passion is essential for a few very tangible reasons.
- Learning how to sing well is hard and having a passion to do so will help you stay motivated to see it through to the end.
- Passion lends itself to developing a unique sound. There are some great singers out there that i thing are technically great but lack a unique style and passion of their own and try to make up for it by singing in complex ways rather than with STYLE. If you have passion and your own style you will be a unique asset.
- I believe that a passion for singing gives a person a passion for success be it professionally or even just at the karaoke bar. IT also draws others around you who are passionate to you allow you more contacts and people who feed your singing passions to new levels.
So to learn how to sing properly you need to be properly passionate about singing!
